How to get into Bhutan

There are two ways of getting into Bhutan, by air and by road.

For those entering by air have only one entrance, Paro International Airport. It is located at Paro, one of the western districts of Bhutan, 65 km east of capital Thimphu.

For those entering by road has two main entrance point; Phuntsholing at southwest bordering with Indian state of West Bengal and Samdrup Jongkhar at southeast bordering with Indian state of Assam. The nearest airport to Phuntsholing is Bagdogra, India (4.5 hours drive) and for Samdrup Jongkhar is Guwahati, India (1 hour drive).

Flight to Bhutan

At present, Bhutan has two airlines; Drukair, the government owned and privately operated, Bhutan airlines. These two carriers operate to various international and domestic destinations as follows:

Drukair operates from Paro International Airport (PBH) to following international destinations:
